Healthy and sensitive skin

The function of skin

Skin is the largest organ of the human body, and can measure about 2 square metres on average in an adult man. The outermost layer of skin has millions of cells, interspersed between lipids, which creates a barrier that helps keep water inside.

It is both a physical barrier against external irritants and chemical barrier against pathogenic microbes. It also allows the skin to remain properly hydrated.

Compromised, excessively dry or oily skin can trigger significant problems in terms of cutaneous diseases and even influence a person's quality of life.

Proper hygiene is essential to clean the skin without compromising its structure and proper hydration helps skin to stay healthy.
